About
Let me introduce myself, my name is Fiona, yes as in the love of Shrek’s life, the before midnight princess of course, not the sickly green, post midnight ogress, although close friends and family may dissagree!!!
I moved from England to Sarasota Florida in December 2005, with my husband and 3 children.
It is a decision I have not regretted for one day,in fact many is the time when sat outside late at night watching the sun set, in a riot of orange and yellow hues that I have to pinch myself.!
I was an Optometrist back in England where I had my own practice for nearly 15 years and it was my intention to retire when we moved here. The economic landslide however cut short my life of idle lunches and enthusiastic but not entirely successful attempts to master the game of tennis. I fear I must admit that I was probably never going to make much of an impression on the local tennis scene,in fact the donut was soon to become as much a feature of my score line as my diet. The economy then started it’s rather hasty freefall into oblivion and I saw with blinding clarity, that it was going to become essential for me to find some form of gainful employment, with almost indecent speed.!!
So it was with a sigh of relief, I am sure from my doubles team, that I announced my return to the work place.I was fortunate to be in the right place at the right time and in August found myself the new owner of a stylish and bijou Opticians, named EyeArt.
I have since being indulging my shopaholic habit, with gay abandon, by buying in some truly stunning, sophisticated and totally unique frames, all in the name of work
We have styles for every taste, age and budget, whether it is the brilliant dazzle of Swarowski crystals, or the clean elegant lines of Vera Wang. The more established names such as Dior or the new and exciting designers like Jhane Barnes. There are frames with sides that can be changed to match your mood and or outfit adn the light as whisper Silhouettes. You will find sophisticated Eurpean designers sitting comfortably next to exotic Japanese styles. You will even find a new German designer Yabi, available exclusively at EyeArt.
One thing I am certain, is that when you walk out of EyeArt with a wonderful new pair of spectacles, or several, you can be sure you will attract admiring glances and plenty of compliments. So shy and retiring wallflowers be warned.
That is however only part of the experience, together with my Florida Board Certified Optician, Karen past recipient of the prestigious “Small Business of the Year Award“ and also Florida Optician of the Year, we will ensure that you are advised on all the available and up to date lens types.
